THE PURPOSE OF PAISLEY

Through this space, I'm showcasing my fine art,  folk art and literary pursuits, that I practice in order to thrive, and express myself, my thoughts and memories.  I'm celebrating every individual who has played a part in making me who I am today.

A LITTLE BIT OF BACKGROUND 

I was raised in the city of Banyan Trees - Vadodara, in Gujarat, India.  I came to the United States in 2006 to pursue my masters in Computer Science. I currently reside in San Jose, California, where I work as a User Experience Designer.   

 

THE FANCIFUL DREAMER IN ME 

I often find myself walking on the familiar streets of my home town, smelling the familiar air and admiring the dusty Laburnums, Bougainvilleas and Banyans. Many times while cooking, as the mustard and curry leaves crackle, I find myself peeping into my mother's kitchen. I also dream of tree hollows with little windows, doors, lit up lanterns (and a squirrel busy cooking inside).

 

As of today, I paint, craft,  embroider and weave stories with the same enthusiasm if not more. It makes the bond with my roots stronger than ever!
